About Me
WELCOME
Thank you for considering Engage 2 Reconnect Wellbeing
My interest in working with people stems from both my personal journey and my professional experience. The adversity that I experienced growing up, along with having to grow up quickly with traumatic experiences and face more challenges throughout my life journey. These experiences have instilled in me a profound resilience, empowering me to work therapeutically on myself. My ongoing personal growth has equipped me with the skills and empathy needed to support others effectively. I have also worked in various community mental health services and local authorities as a social worker and care coordinator. Supporting my clients to achieve better overall wellbeing is important to me and I utilise my skills and experiences to work together with my clients as individual as I believe we are all unique in our ways.
As a therapist, I will offer you a therapeutic relationship by ensuring a space where you will feel secure, respected and understood. This will allow me to offer you empathy, respect, unconditional positive regards, collaboration, openness and safety during your therapeutic journey. By building a therapeutic relationship with you I will be able to support you to explore your thoughts and feelings, working through your challenges and achieving your personal growth.
I’m an Integrative Therapist and a Trauma Informed Therapist meaning I draw from different modalities of therapy when working with clients. This allows me to provide support across a wide range of issues.
I’m dedicated to helping you navigate your journeys toward emotional well-being and personal growth. With various experiences in health and social care, adult’s mental health services and older adults mental health and dementia care, I believe in a holistic approach that combines various therapeutic techniques tailored to meet your unique needs.
My psychology and social work background inspires me to empower others to overcome challenges through understanding, empathy, and support. My experience in mental health has equipped me with a deep understanding of the complexities individuals’ face, while my work with those living with dementia has taught me the importance of compassion and patience in fostering connection and comfort. As an integrative therapist I can support you through your therapeutic journey by creating a healthy therapeutic relationship. FREEDOM
I choose freedom so I can be free
“I choose freedom so I can be free from my core beliefs and conditions of worth. By doing this, I can lead the life that I want. Core beliefs and conditions of worth are often deeply ingrained, influencing our self-perception and interactions with the world. They can dictate our choices, behaviours, and even our sense of self-worth, often without us realising it. Breaking free from these internal limitations requires a conscious effort to question and re-evaluate the beliefs that have been imposed upon us by society, family, or past experiences.
By choosing freedom, you embark on a journey of self-discovery and self-empowerment. This involves identifying the core beliefs that limit you, challenging their validity, and replacing them with empowering, positive affirmations. It also means recognising the conditions of worth that you have internalised with the belief that your value is contingent upon meeting certain standards or expectations and rejecting these notions in favour of unconditional self-acceptance.
This process of liberation could lead to exploration of your true values and desires, rather than conforming to external pressures or outdated beliefs. It could empower you to make decisions that are authentic to who you are, fostering a sense of autonomy and fulfillment.
As you work through these restrictive layers, you can gain the clarity and confidence to pursue your aspirations and live a life that is true to your innermost self.
Ultimately, choosing freedom is about reclaiming your self-worth and embracing the possibilities that come with living authentically. It is a commitment to personal growth, resilience, and the unwavering belief that you have the power to shape your destiny. In doing so, you not only enhance your own well-being but also contribute to a more liberated and just society where everyone can realise their potential and live freely. We can work therapeutically together to support you on your journey”.
